MEMBERSHIPS
We’ve launched a new memberships program! Starting at just $25 per year, members get priority access to the 22/23 Season and all added shows, discounts, free ticket exchanges, donor benefits and more.

Memberships offer the ultimate flexibility—buy what you want, when you want. Access and any discounts are automatic. Memberships benefits are active for 1 year from date of purchase.

Membership costs are tax deductible (minus any fair market value) and directly support Performing Arts Houston and its Education & Community Programs.

Do you still offer subscription packages?
We now offer greater savings and flexibility than ever before. Access Members ($25) who purchase 4 or more eligible 22/23 Season performances in a single order save up to 25% off the cost buying single tickets. They also get priority access to all added shows and pay no fees when exchanging tickets. That’s 10% more savings than we’ve offered in years past.

Don’t want to become a member but still want to buy a ticket package?

  • Call the Box Office to buy 4 or more eligible 22/23 Season performances in a single order and you’ll save up to 25% off the cost of buying single tickets. Please note that, as a non-member, you’ll have to pay exchange fees when making changes to your order. And you won’t have priority access to new shows. 
  • Prefer to buy online? This same non-member package option will be available once tickets are on sale to the general public. 22/23 Season public on-sales being on July 12, 2022.

25% Discount
The 25% discount over the cost of buying single tickets includes 10% off the cost the ticket with the 15% ticket fee waived. Members at the $100 level and above get this discount on almost all tickets, all the time, for every order.

Free, Flexible Exchanges
Members can exchange or donate their tickets by contacting the Box Office at least 48 hours prior to the show. All exchange fees are waived.

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICIES (DIFFER BY SHOW)
Please note revised protocols for upcoming performances below. Like our programs, there’s no-one-size-fits-all. Thank you for your patience as we return to the theater and please let us know if you have any questions.

For the 22/23 Season, policies will be assessed as the new season approaches. All protocols are at the discretion of the artist.

FOR PERFORMANCES THAT REQUIRE PROOF OF VACCINATION OR NEGIATIVE COVID TEST

For entry, all audience will be required to show proof of a negative professionally administered Covid-19 test (not an at-home self test) OR proof of vaccination.

All attendees must also show a government-issued ID that matches the name on the negative test proof or vaccination record. Children up to age 18 may be accompanied by an adult with such identification.

These two forms of negative COVID-19 test are acceptable:
1. Professionally administered PCR COVID-19 tests taken within 72 hours prior to the performance
2. Professionally administered rapid antigen COVID-19 test taken within 6 hours prior to the performance,

These forms of vaccination proof are acceptable:
1. A CDC designated vaccine card that has two vaccine dates for the Pfizer/Moderna vaccine or one vaccine date for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (the date of the final dose must be at least 14 days prior to the performance). All CDC and WHO approved vaccines will be accepted.
2. A photo or digital copy of the card.

SELF SCREENING
We ask all patrons and staff to do a self-screening at home, prior to arrival for performances. For the safety of others, please stay home if you’re not feeling 100% or have any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 identified by the Centers for Disease Control: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

MASKS
All patrons will be required to wear a properly fitted mask covering the nose and mouth at all times upon entry to the theater, including in the lobby and audience chamber, except in the lobby area or any designated Green Room while eating or drinking concessions. SPA will provide masks to any patron who does not have one. The mask requirement applies to all 21/22 Season performances.

LOW-TOUCH AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE 
Payments at the Box Office, concessions & bars, and Theater District Parking garage will be credit or debit card only. Performance programs and tickets will be distributed digitally.

FOOD & DRINK
The Encore Café at Jones Hall will be open but restricted to light, takeaway items. Eating and drinking will be allowed in designated lobby areas only. Food and drink will not be permitted inside the auditorium.

SEATING 
All performances are planned to be at capacity, without social distancing.

Once seated in the auditorium, please remain seated throughout the duration of the performance, if possible. We ask that you follow any guidance from the ushers.

PERFORMING ARTS HOUSTON STAFF
All Performing Arts Houston administrative employees and staff members are fully vaccinated. Performance staff will wear masks at all times.

VENUE PROTOCOLS
New Orchestra Level aisles at Jones Hall will allow for greater ease of access to those areas. All high-touch areas are under increased cleaning procedures and hand sanitization stations are available throughout the venue. The venue HVAC system features MERV 13 filters for superior air quality.

LOOKING AHEAD
We’ll continue to follow guidance from the CDC and local officials. All changes will be updated on this page and shared with current ticket holders via email. Please note that all Health & Safety requirements are subject to change and at the discretion of the artists, presenter, or venue.

FIREARMS 
Firearms and weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited at Society for the Performing Arts performances.

EXCHANGE OR DONATE TICKETS

Can’t attend a performance? Please consider exchanging or donating your tickets. All tickets are non-refundable.

EXCHANGE OR DONATE YOUR TICKETS

  • Contact the box office at least 48 hours prior to the start of the performance to donate your tickets for a tax donation, or exchange your tickets.
  • Members can exchange tickets within the same season without paying additional exchange fees (for tickets of equal or lesser value).
  • Single-ticket buyers (non-members) can exchange tickets within the same season. Exchange fees apply.
  • Group tickets cannot be cancelled or exchanged.
  • If donating, an acknowledge will be mailed within 14 business days.

  • If exchanging, please include the performance, date and time you want to exchange into. Not sure what you’d like to attend yet? We have ticket credit options.
TICKET CREDIT

Can’t attend a performance but not sure what you’d like to exchange into? You can exchange the value of your tickets into credit to be used later. And it’s very easy to use online.

How to Redeem
Credits can be redeemed online. If you have credit on your account, you’ll see that amount in checkout (before entering your credit card information).

New Credits
Credits expire at the end of our fiscal year for that season. Credits created in the 21/22 Season will expire on June 30, 2022. After the expiration date, unused credits will be considered donations.

CHILD POLICIES

Unless otherwise specified, children ages 4 and older may attend Performing Arts Houston performances. Please note that not all performances may be appropriate for younger children. 

Tickets must be purchased for all children, regardless of age. This is required by the City of Houston Fire Code. There are no exceptions.

WHEN TO ARRIVE / LATE SEATING

We strongly recommend arriving to park at least 1 hour prior to the start of the performance. Our city is a vibrant place! Arriving early allows you time to park, enjoy a beverage or bite in the lobby, and fine you seat, with ease.

Late Seating
Late seating policy is at the discretion of the artist and may not be available. Please arrive early and get the full experience of the performance! If you happen to arrive late, our event staff will let you know when the next available seating opportunity will be.

Doors Open / Seating Begins
The main doors to the venue will open 60 minutes prior to the performance start time, unless otherwise specified. Seating inside the theater opens 30 minutes prior to start time.

PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOGRAPHY

Photography/Videography
Photography and recording of the performance, of any kind, are strictly prohibited. Please note that, as an audience member, you may be photographed or recorded for promotional use.

PARKING

Parking 
Parking is available in the Theater District Parking Garage for $12. Street parking in Downtown Houston is free after 6pm, Monday-Saturday, and free all day on Sundays. Street parking is not guaranteed. Parking rates are not controlled by Performing Arts Houston and are subject to change. Parking can be an adventure—please allow extra time to find your spot.
